About us
Thrift Farm is a 52 acre farm owned by Buckinghamshire County Council, Adult Social Care and is a Rural
Training Centre/working environment for Adults with Learning Difficulties. Approximately thirty
trainees attend the farm each day. Places are also provided for students from Special schools
and other local establishments. The trainees work on the farm with the help and guidance of
a small, experienced staff team.
The Farm
Park covers three and a half acres. We have a good selection of farm animals - cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, donkeys,
chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. We have a hatchery with various small animals - chicks, ducklings
and guinea pigs. There is a small charge to the Animal Park where there is also a play and picnic area.
We have a laying flock of free-range hens, ducks and geese producing
eggs for sale.
We have a Garden
Centre producing a variety of shrubs, perennial and bedding plants, herbs and hanging baskets.
A small shop sells planters, wind chimes, seeds and other horticultural sundries.
The Garden Contract team undertakes all sorts of gardening jobs, mowing,
turfing and site clearance. Please give us a call, we are happy to give free estimates.
Our Craft
Shop/Workshop produces a range of woodwork, pots, cards, jewellery and many other gift items
using as many recycled materials as possible.
The Tea Room, situated in the farmhouse, provides a lovely setting for
tea, coffee, cakes and light lunches all very reasonably priced and excellent quality.
Thrift Farm is a lovely, friendly place to visit. You won't get something for
nothing - but what you will get is a great day out and value for money.
