A Guide to Forest Walks and Trails
Situated on the northern
edge of the Chiltern escarpment, Wendover Woods affords spectacular views across the Vale of Aylesbury.
You are very welcome to explore all of the 325 hectares of mixed coniferous and broadleaved woodland.
If you fancy an energetic day, why not try the large permanent orienteering
course, designed to test the best, or the gruelling Fitness trail. The Family Cycle Trail is an
ideal way to explore the woods on wheels or why not ‘Go Ape’ on the tree top adventure course.
Alternatively, walk the Firecrest Trail which leads you through the many habitats within
Wendover Woods. If this sounds too energetic then take a leisurely stroll along the Hilltop Trail and
stand at the highest point of the Chilterns, followed by a drink and some cake at the ‘Café in the Woods’.
Other facilities include: Children’s Play Area, Toilets, Café in the Woods (open 364 days a year),
Go Ape, Bookable barbecue stands, cycle routes, horse riding (by permit only). Nearby is Aston Hill Mountain
Bike Club.
