County Museum in the heart of historic Aylesbury is a great place to visit for all the family with a lively
programme of changing exhibitions, special events and activities throughout the year. For hands-on
fun and Roald Dahl magic visit the fabulous Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery.
In the County Museum discover the rich natural and cultural heritage of Buckinghamshire and explore the displays
on the Romans, Victorians, brickmaking, lacemaking, woodlands and fossils. There are things to touch, spy holes to peep through
and plenty to appeal to younger children too.
The museum
has an exciting programme of changing exhibitions for schools, families and art lovers in its stunning Art
Gallery. Family activities are also run during Easter, Summer and half-term school holidays (Bucks school dates)
and there are regular special events such as Wildlife Day, Archaeology Day, The Big Draw and the Roald Dahl
Festival.
The
County Museum is home to the award winning Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery where you can boggle your eyes,
baffle your brain and let your imagination run wild. You can crawl along Fantastic Mr Fox’s tunnel, go inside
the Giant Peach and ride in the Great Glass Elevator.
