Boating on the Grand Union Canal?

Why not turn off the Main Line at Marsworth and enjoy a leisurely 4 hour trip into the heart of Aylesbury, where a warm welcome awaits you from -

The Aylesbury Canal Society

ACS Logo

Formed in 1971 to promote the use of the arm, and to run the basin moorings which are leased from British Waterways, the Society has gained an enviable reputation for welcoming visitors. All boaters, hirers, private, cruiser or 70's "trad" are equally welcome.

Boaters wishing to stay a few days should see our "WELCOME BOAT" for assistance. Short-term moorings are generally possible for boats "weekending" around the country. The notice board on the clubroom wall has a list of forthcoming A.C.S. social events, while B.W. notices are on the B.W. board by the sanitary station.

Welcome!

But there is no need to have a boat to enjoy the Aylesbury Arm.

Aylesbury Basin

Why not enjoy a quiet walk along the tow-path and escape the noise of the town for a few minutes, you'll be suprised by how much peace and tranquility there is hidden away in the centre of Aylesbury. Access can be gained to the tow-path from Walton Street, Highbridge Road/Highbridge Walk, the lower High Street, or from Park Street, where the first of the sixteen locks up to Marsworth can be found. (see map for details).
